Contest rules:
- Daily and weekly newspapers; photography from newspapers, magazines or Web; magazines (general interest and organizational); and Web sites associated with newspapers or magazines are eligible for the contest. Eligible states are Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa.
- All entries must have been published between Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2009.
- Entries can be submitted by employers, such as newspapers or magazines, or by individuals working full-time, part-time or on a freelance basis. College and university students are also eligible. Students must be writing for a student publication in one of the eligible states. Freelancers should be based only in states eligible for the contest.
- Entries should be accompanied by two (2) completed copies of the entry form.
- The same story, series or photo may be submitted in more than one category. Each entry will require a separate entry fee and two copies of the entry form.
- Publications and individuals are not limited in the number of entries they can submit.
- Judges will not shift an entry to another category if it was entered incorrectly.
- Entries must be received by Feb. 15 for consideration. No exceptions.
- Send entries to Tulsa Press Club, 415 S. Boston Ave., lobby, Tulsa, OK 74103.
- The entry fee is $25 per entry. Entry fees can be paid by check, money order, purchase order or purchase order number. Checks should be made out to the Tulsa Press Club.
- Entries will be judged by press club members in non-competing states.
- Awards for first, second, third place and honorable mention will be presented at an awards banquet in spring 2010.
